face lift
I think this blog needs a new look. This dark greyish-bluish scheme is getting tiring to look at. Would anyone object if I change it? Maybe it'll get people back to blogging. But summer's coming up anyway, so I'm sure everyone will start crawling back to it due to boredom.
If nobody objects (or cares to answer) by...let's say tomorrow...I'm gonna change it anyway! Har har har.

Damn people who keep coming up with new worms and viruses
More worms?! I just recently got my computer fixed and there are more viruses and bugs and such. I'm getting freaking paranoid about these things now.
Oh yeah...hope you all enjoy finals. Good luck & I'll see ya kids soon for summer ;)

Sasser: A, B, C, D...
As you all know, the Sasser worm has been coming around lately and so you all should be updating your AV software constantly... considering four variants have appeared in the past couple of days. It exploits something called LSASS, you can read up on that over at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/bulletin/ms04-011.mspx
Sasser: Friday
Sasser.B: Saturday
Sasser.C:Sunday
Sasser.D:Monday
Luckily, there's been no reports of any further variants. Remember to patch your OS if you haven't done that yet over at http://www.microsoft.com/security/protect/.
Also, there's a new version of Stinger out that will help out some, it's located at http://vil.nai.com/vil/stinger/ and it's been updated to catch all four variants of Sasser. If you've never heard of Stinger, it's a small stand-alone virus detection and removal tool that's fine-tuned to catch the biggest and latest threats, it's updated very often.
Also, there's a set of tools over at Symantec which will be helpful for you, they're located over at http://securityresponse.symantec.com/avcenter/tools.list.html
Also remember to download the latest software definitions for whatever AV program you're using, and if you're poor and can't afford one, there are scanners over at:
http://security.symantec.com/sscv6/vc_scan.asp?langid=ie&venid=sym&plfid=22&pkj=JDIKLUKUMXCCJDTKJBT

Good Luck and Stay Safe.
